Kindergarten
We are offering full day K4 and K5 programming. The class times are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm for full day. A nutritious meal is also included Breakfast - 8:30 am to 9:00 am. Lunch - 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm. Our class size is 22 children with a lead and an assistant teacher. One staff is bi-lingual. Both staff are degreed professionals with CPR and First Aid Certification. Our program implements academics conducive to how children learn.
Curriculum
Our primary focus is to ensure that children obtain the necessary literacy skills to learn to read. Our primary curricula are Break Through to Literacy and Everyday Mathematics. Both curricula advance children through learning concrete topics, small groups, and hands on experiences. Two wonderful features of the curricula are: a technological component where children practice and demonstrate literacy and math skills using the computer; and parents are involved with their children’s learning through the take home parent packets.
Private School
The Child Development Center of St. Joseph now operates a Private School approved by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to serve kindergarten children. Our school opened its doors on September 1, 2009 with a progressive K4 program.
Fees
We accept Private Pay based on a Sliding Fee Scale, or Milwaukee Parental Choice Voucher.

Our Vision is to be the premier early childhood education and kindergarten learning center on the south side of Milwaukee working in strong partnership with families of children being served and in collaboration with organizations established to promote the well being and total development of the child.
Early Childhood Services
CDCSJ has a State licensed NAEYC accredited Child Care Program. Before and After School care is provided.
How to Enroll
1. Submit an application.
2. Provide proof of residency.
3. Provide in-person proof of your child’s birth day via birth certificate. Children need to be 4 by September 1st for K4 and 5 by September 1st for K5.
4. Provide proof of household income. (We accept a copy of your current year’s income tax record.)
Open Application Periods
Kindergarten applications are accepted on a monthly basis between the 1st and 20th day of each month.
