Parents
When do you close for snow or inclement weather?
We follow Milwaukee Public Schools. When they close, we close.

What are your rates?
It depends on the age of the child and the hours of service. See our fee schedule

What is included in the fee?
All meals during the hours of service (example: breakfast, snack, lunch, late snack). We serve children a meal/snack every three hours.

Do you accept W-2 payments?
Yes.

Do you provide transportation?
We do not provide service to and from your home. However, children who attend Milwaukee Public Schools can arrange to have bus service to and from the Center before and after school.

Do you have a school days off program?
Yes, we do. We are closed on national holidays. Please see our calendar.

Do you provide diapers, wipes and formula for infants?
Parents provide diapers, wipes and extra clothing. The Center provides formula if the parent wishes to use Carnation Good Start. Some parents choose to provide their own formula or breast milk.

How many children are in a classroom?
We follow the guidelines of the State of Wisconsin and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Do you prepare your own food?
Yes. The Center has its own kitchen and serves nutritiously balanced meals. If your child has a food allergy, we make accommodations.

Do you have to be Catholic to attend the Center?
No. The Center serves children of all faiths. The Felician Sisters, a Catholic religious order sponsors the Child Development Center of St. Joseph.

Do you teach religion?
No. The Center does not teach religion. The Center provides a Christian environment for children to learn, play, and work together while respecting the dignity of all persons.

What do I need to bring to register?
The Center provides all forms you need to register. You can fill out the forms and return them at your convenience.

Can I come in for a tour or do I need an appointment?
You can come in at your convenience for a tour but an appointment assures staff is available for the tour.

Do you allow for varied schedules?
We can be flexible but need to know when your child is here in advance.

Is there a waiting list?
Sometimes there is a waiting list depending on the age of the child. The Center’s admissions coordinator can inform you of availability for the times that are of interest to you.
