The Tradition of Compassionate Service to Children and Families Continues

The Child Development Center of St. Joseph (Center) is a South-Side, community-based facility continuing the 150+ year tradition of the Felician Sisters’ commitment to care giving. The Center provides family-focused child development within a Christian-oriented environment. Center sponsors, administrators, teachers and staff are dedicated to providing quality programming that develops the whole child while ministering to families. In concert with our mission and values, we believe that families are enriched when children are raised to respect the dignity and self worth of themselves and others.

We select staff based on their qualification—certified as early childhood teachers and for their ability to foster and enhance the positive development of children. Teachers work with parents to deliver a childcare experience that is nurturing and developmentally appropriate for their child’s needs. Our goal is to develop the physical, intellectual, cognitive, emotional and social skills of children. The Center is a child’s home away from home, and Center staff makes the extra effort that transforms our facility into an enriching and interactive learning and growing environment.

As you tour our facilities by room, imagine the space alive with the sight, sounds and joy of children. We take pride in our facility and grounds. Our bright, spacious and child-centered areas include large areas for indoor and outdoor play and learning experiences.

Rooms have furnishings, educational materials, and toys—specific to the ages of the children inhabiting the space.
